Find AnimalHead Vintage at STUFF in San Francisco!

Oh, hi!

We've been a little quiet around these parts, but that's just because we've been busy busy busy. The latest move for Animal Head has been into an antique mall on Valencia Street in San Francisco!

We'll still be selling vintage clothing online at animalheadvintage.com but for anyone in San Francisco, you'll be able to see some of our goods in person at my favorite antique mall in the city - STUFF! [150 Valencia St, SF] We've got a little booth on the second floor, toward the back and across from the record guy. It'll be the place that some of the things less conducive to online shopping end up, like shoes and smaller accessories, housewares and furniture, etc.

You can keep an eye on some of the things we'll be filling the shelves with by following us on Instagram or Facebook. (And of course, if you ever see anything destined for STUFF that catches your eye, just let us know and we can always arrange to ship it to you before we place it there!)

Video - 3 Minute Heather Remake

The other day we went down to my backyard to shoot some clothes for the shop, and found that we weren't the only ones down there for once. There was a music video being shot, but all we could tell was that it had an awesome vintage 80s vibe to it and some pretty creepy mannequins.

Turns out, they were filming a three minute musical interpretation of the first scene from the movie Heathers to promote the 80s dance club Darling Nikki. Glad to know the backyard is a home for so much creativity:

Vintage Inspiration: HD Buttercup

HD Buttercup is a really lovely furniture store located in SOMA in San Francisco. Aside from being huge and full of the kind of furniture that is pretty enough to make you feel okay about dedicating your next several paychecks to it, they have worked in a lot of really great vintage decorating ideas that could be some DIY inspiration for around the home.

A wall of vintage plates:

Bowler hats turned light covers:

Old shoe stands painted for display:

And lots of vintage pieces around every corner, like this trophy collection:

Vintage Destination: Alameda Flea Market

If you ever find yourself in the Bay Area during the first Sunday of the month, you should check out the massive Alameda Flea Market.

It isn't all inexpensive - but there are some bargains to be found. And, when the weather is good, with San Francisco picturesque in the background, you can wander the isles eating a breakfast burrito or something else from one of the food trucks, and it won't even matter if all you actually walk away with is a doodad or two.
