Designer to Know: Pronto

I stumbled upon this pair of acrylic Pronto novelty sweaters from the 70's that I found amusing, featuring Groucho Marx and W.C. Fields (both now available to purchase in the shop).

While researching the brand, I found that they actually had featured an impressive line-up of comedians and actors including:

Charlie Chaplain

Jack Benny

Laurel and Hardy

Little Orphan Annie

I found a few other photos of good ol' Groucho, but mine was the only W.C.Fields that I could find. It seems like a fairly random selection of entertainers that they've chosen to immortalize in acrylic, but I like the results. Fun!

I couldn't find anything about the company itself, though. Anyone know their history? I see a lot of 80's/90's sweaters out there by Pronto-Uomo, but I don't think it is the same maker.

Find AnimalHead Vintage at STUFF in San Francisco!

Oh, hi!

We've been a little quiet around these parts, but that's just because we've been busy busy busy. The latest move for Animal Head has been into an antique mall on Valencia Street in San Francisco!

We'll still be selling vintage clothing online at but for anyone in San Francisco, you'll be able to see some of our goods in person at my favorite antique mall in the city - STUFF! [150 Valencia St, SF] We've got a little booth on the second floor, toward the back and across from the record guy. It'll be the place that some of the things less conducive to online shopping end up, like shoes and smaller accessories, housewares and furniture, etc.

You can keep an eye on some of the things we'll be filling the shelves with by following us on Instagram or Facebook. (And of course, if you ever see anything destined for STUFF that catches your eye, just let us know and we can always arrange to ship it to you before we place it there!)
