What I'm Wearing: Lady Danburry

My friend Lynette (aka Lady Danburry) sews really beautiful clothing, and sells them in her online shop. A lot of her pieces are one-of-a-kind, vintage inspired, and many times out of vintage fabric. I ordered a blouse from her the other day and was so excited to wear it out and about for the first time. It came wrapped beautifully, with hand-written washing instructions:

Can you get any better than that sharp little vintage inspired collar? I don't think so. I wore it today with jeans, but have lots of plans to pair it with high-waisted skirts.

What I'm Wearing: Vintage Pastel Purple for Easter

We got all fancied up for Easter Sunday - I wore a beaded silk pastel purple 60s dress that might seem a little too bling for every day wear, but was perfect for Easter. And, my best accessory - the husband in his matching purple button-up that he didn't even complain about wearing.

Isn't the heavy beading and rhinestone work awesome?

What I'm Wearing: Scalamandre inspired prints

I stumbled upon this awesome vintage dress the other day with an obnoxiously loud zebra print and contrasting collar that I knew I had to have:

At first I thought it was just because I wanted to look like the interior of the Kate Spade dressing rooms, decked out in a bright Scalamandre zebra print wallpaper:

..but while researching the origins of that wallpaper, I stumbled upon these images of the Royal Tennenbaums, also rocking the same print:

I feel like both Kate Spade and Wes Anderson are totally rooting for my outfit.

What I'm Wearing: Vintage to work

I picked up this beaded beauty at Community Thrift Frock Shop on our awesome Vancouver trip.  To wear it to work, my outfit logic was that monochromatic grays kept it professional despite having a flashy phoenix on my back.

What I'm Wearing: 60's Mixed Patterns

I still haven't kicked my love for a good mixed patterned outfit, and I've been hunting for more and more wild 60s color/pattern combos lately. I just picked this little dress up during a trip to Seattle over the weekend, and I love the bright red and white polka dots contrasting with the strong black and white pattern. As if that wasn't enough happening, a pair of bold tights really keeps things moving.
